It has to show the buffering at the end of the playing the channel line - If it is not showing then the channel is not getting the feed. Try to re-install it again.
What firewall/internet security are you using.

I have something called storm codec installed on my system. You can try to download it-its free, just don’t forget to scan before installing.
Disabling the firewall is not a good idea- you can keep it ON but have to allow it to let you watch sopcast or any live streaming.
