Well final day of the 3rd and final test match seems to be very promising for England and if things go well they should win the match and series with ease. It should be easy task for English paceman to pick some early wickets with new ball which is just 2 overs old.Overall the series was interesting thought 1st match was boring for first 4 days and from then on it has been an exciting series.

Well that was interesting day, though WI was never in the game it got quite interesting at the end of Day 2 where West Indies tail fighting hard to avoid follow on. Would be great if they can avoid follow and force Sri Lanka to bat for couple of sessions and then bat out rest of the day and if possible tomorrow. Well am I dreaming too much ?? Centuries from two out of form batsman in 2nd Innings put England on top with 500 runs lead already with another 5 wickets in hand. Nothing went kiwis way and turned out to be one more bad day at work who managed to pick only 4 wickets giving away 325 runs on day 2.

With that it has become a one sided match and only team that can win the match and the series from here on is England after three centuries from KP, Strauss and Bell so far and a seven wicket spell from Sidebottom.

That’s hell lot of runs to score in 1st innings after winning the toss and decide to bat on a good batting track justifying the decision. Jayawardene’s century and Vaas half century pushed the score beyond 400 on day 2. Jayawardene had declared an hour before the end of Day 2 which will put the WI openers in dilemma whether to play normal game or negate that one hour and start fresh on Day 3 like many captains do in modern cricket and that turned out to be a worthy declaration as they had picked Gayle.

Huge task ahead for West Indies batsman on Day 3, Would be interesting to see how they are gonna perform on this track. Good news for West Indies is Sarwan still at the crease and looking in good touch even after 9 months break.

What a turn around to the game, 1st Half of Day 2 New Zealand out played England with both ball and then with bat scoring runs at quick pace and at one stage it seemed like game is going out of England hands but things changed quickly after lunch with Ryan Sidebottom ripping through the New Zealand batsman who is very well supported by Broad and Anderson.

Resuming 2nd Innings I thought England will play carefully but Michael Vaughan proved me wrong(again) with reckless and unnecessary shot. Nevertheless England still has a upperhand, already leading by 176 runs with another 8 wickets in hand. If England can accumulate another 150 runs it will be interesting chase for New Zealand on Day 4.

Day 1 was totally dominated by Sri Lanka and put them in a great position. SL will be looking forward to extend 1st inning score by another 150 runs to be in commanding position of the 1st test of 2 match test series. West Indies need to pick wickets soon before game slip from their hands. It will be interesting to see how pitch plays on Day 2 and also how West Indies goin to bat on this track which suited batsman on day 1.

From 4/3 to 240/7 may not be a dream recovery but England has got decent score to play with and defend themselves from losing the match.
