Century from Hussey with useful little contributions from Haddin and Lee put Aussies on top of end of Day 2 and good thing for India is they got their innings going on without losing a early wicket which should take off some pressure. I believe they should adopt strategy similar to Aussies like make sure you don’t give up wickets easily even if Runs are coming slow. Will be a good test for Aussie bowlers today.

Well we did not cover last year ICL but with interest in 20/20 cropping we are looking forward to cover the ICL 2008. Thanks to Indian Cricket League (ICL) and BCCI greed, we have IPL today which is far superior compare to this ICL.Nevertheless T20 is always interesting and with some good International players playing for ICL, I think it’s worth following this season.

We have around 40 Games in total over next 1 month and we hope it will be an entertaining season and pull much larger crows than 1st season.

Another series kicks off today with Sri Lanka, Canada, Pakistan and Zimbabwe playing for Four Nation Canada Cup 20/20 Tournament (Apart from the other two which have started yesterday) and what a poor contest to start the series. They could have got Pakistan and Sri Lanka for the 1st match which could have set the tone for the series and make fans of both nations(and other nations) follow the game from match 1.

Anyways it’s T20 and anything is possible. Lets hope we will get to see some competitive cricket.

Australia still on top, even thought they lost couple of wickets at the end of the day. Only reason for India to cheer is the wickets in end, otherwise it’s a pretty ordinary day in the field. They will be definitely hoping to pick some early wickets today and restrict Aussies to a score below 400. With Hussey at the crease and few allrounders to come,  Aussies will be hoping to post a total beyond 450.

Not really sure how many of you remember when Bangladesh won their last ODI match against major team but if I remember correctly it was during World cup where they won two matches against major cricketing nations and after that Bangladesh cricket had made only negative progress. Neither a single test win/draw nor a single ODI victory against major test playing nation in last 16 months and If they continue to play the similar cricket, it will be soon their test status will be revoked(not sure if any ICC will stop that) for better cricket.

BTW we have 3 ODI’s and 2 Tests similar to Bangladesh tour of New Zealand an year ago.

BCCI New Selection Committee to select team for 1st Two Tests

In next few hours BCCI’s newly appointed selection committee will announce the list of cricket players who will be part of 1st two test matches against Australia and I don’t think they will change the selection for the rest of the series as well.

Earlier Ganguly had bit of backing from Vengsarkar (Former chief selector) , but with Kris Srikkanth assuming role of new chief selector I don’t think Ganguly will have that support.

Below is my list of probables (Will add the official team as soon as it is out) - Only 12 Players

Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Subramanyam Badrinath/Suresh Raina, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, R.P Singh.

Team is out and surprisingly Ganguly in.

Officially Announced Team:
