Sri Lanka needs one more win to be in Finals and what better chance than this. Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka, 2nd time in this tournament and Sri Lanka totally dominated them in 1st match. If Bangladesh lose today, they will be out of the Asia cup.
After watching last couple of matches, I’ve zero hopes on West Indies winning here today. All I expect from West Indies is to play some good competitive cricket.
Its difficult to pick on of these teams and both have played good cricket so far in this Asia Cup. All eyes (Atleast selectors) will be on Afridi whose batting is under scanner and haven’t performed well with bat for long time. After winning both matches comfortably against Bangladesh and UAE, SL will face a major cricketing nation for 1st time in these series and it will not be a easy task against home nation.
Well no surprises so far and as expected India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh moved to the next round (Super 4) and each team will play other team once (This is how you prolong a short tournament, if they have already played once, I don’t see a point why they should be playing again and moreover points are anyways carried forward which absolutely makes no sense). India will play against Bangladesh in 1st match of super four and ideally should win easily. Bangladesh are yet to win a match against major nations after their world cup feat and surprisingly few players have changed their style and approach because of pressure and nothing else.
Anyways after chasing down 300 in 42 overs against Pakistan, India will go into this match with full of confidence and Bangladesh’s poor run will help them to experiment with bench and still win.
New Zealand leads the series 2-1 after winning a controversial match few days back after which Collingwood was suspended for 4 matches due to slow over rate. Kevin Peitersen will be leading England team for the first time and has a major task in front of him to win and level the series 2 - 2. New Zealand can win the series if they win today or match ends up in draw.
No one would have expected WI to lose by huge margin in 1st ODI after watching them in tests and only T20. Aussies has done exceptional job with both bat and bowl in the last match and they would hope to repeat the similar or even better performance while WI would like to play some competitive cricket.
Well Asia Cup really starts today, last two days are more of a warm-up matches and one sided games. Home team Pakistan will face the neighbours India today and obviously interest will be more when these two nations play. Pakistan knows the home conditions well while India look much confident and better unit who started the tour as favorites. Should be an exciting contest and lets hope we will have stable live cricket links for this match.
Yesterday was an easy ride for Sri Lanka and today it should much easier for them. Watchout for some records :P.
Luckily we had links yesterday for Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka for most part of the match and lets hope it will be the same today as well.
ell Hong Kong never played much of international cricket and it will be foolish to expect them to compete here today and that too after watching them yesterday against Pakistan. Should be a easy task for Dhoni’s men and will look forward to start the series on high.
Bangladesh will face a tough test against Sri Lanka today after crushing UAE yesterday. Bangladesh, yet to win a match against major teams in last 5 months would like to put an end to their bad run as early as they can. Sri Lanka will look at this like a warm-up match considering Bangladesh’s poor run and should win easily here today.
Looking at the way things had gone yesterday, I doubt if we will have any links for this match with India match played at the same time.
