There is no way both Bangalore and Hyderabad can make it to semis now, but that should not rule out the interest in their matches from here on. They don’t make it semis but still they can impact which teams will go into semis. Both Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers will look forward to win few games and avoid being in last position and Royal Challengers will be looking forward to the same today and if they manage to win, it will open up the tournament for Mumbai as well. Kings XI Punjab will look forward to win this game and move to 2nd position on points table to improve their chances for semis.

Rajasthan Royals are very much comfortable at the top of the points table and with a good Net Runrate it should not be difficult for them at all to make it to semis but they still need couple of more matches before they are assured of berth in semis.

Sunday, May 11th, 2008With another 6 IPL T20 Cricket Matches left for Deccan Chargers, I don’t see a possibility of them making it to semi’s. Even if they win all the remaining 6 matches they will end up with 16 points and few teams need only 2-4 victories to reach 16 points. Well who don’t want them to be in semis and everyone enjoys when someone fight their way back into any competition after ruled out by everyone. Kolkata who started as favorites after winning first couple of matches then lost 4 matches in a row and it was only last match they managed to win against Challengers. They would like to win this match and keep the winning momentum going on and make their way to semis. No news on Shoaib Akhtar’s chances on appearing in todays match, so I think he may have to wait for another couple of matches before he gets to make IPL Debut.
Hope IPL T20 Cricket can make our Sunday a perfect one.

Never thought IPL Cricket will be such a huge hit, we are just half way through the tournament and TRP ratings have gone up like never seen before. Also IPL points table tells different story for everyone who had thought T20 is all about batting, they will be shocked to see the top two teams have the best bowling attacks and most balanced team of all unlike the rest of teams who has star batsman.
Kings XI Punjab would like to win this game and move one position up on Points table and better their chances for Semis. All they need is to win another 4 matches out of 8 to get into semis while Bangalore Royal Challengers need to win atleast 6 games to have a chance (unless something unexpected happens). Kings XI Punjab might miss Sangakara today but that should not have much of impact on Kings XI.
